Roosters taken in police custody in Madhya Pradesh, produced in court, later released
BHOPAL: In a strange incident in Madhya Pradesh, two roosters were taken to the police station and later produced in the court.
It was during a police raid on a gambling den in Athner town in Betul that the police had recovered them along with other goods.
Actually, the gamblers had put stakes on the roosters' fight, hence they had to be seized as well. The police had got information about the gambling operation going on at the spot.
The two roosters were brought to police station and during the period they remained in the police station, they were fed too. The policemen had tied them to the grill of the lockup.
Later, when the accused gave their statements and court slapped penalty, the roosters were let go. The gamblers were instructed not to gamble and of course, not to use roosters for gambling in future. [Photo courtesy: ETV Madhya Pradesh]
