Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday reaffirmed that the whole of Kashmir including Mirpur, Muzzafarabad, Gilgit and Baltistan was an inseparable and integral part of Bharat and there should not be any compromise on this principle.

Speaking at the annual Vijayadashami function at Nagpur, Bhagwat congratulated the Modi government and the armed forces on the recent surgical strike. Referring to the terrorist attack on army camp in Uri, Kashmir the RSS chief said:

“Through an efficient and expert move, (the armed forced) have given a firm and befitting reply to this wanton attack. This firmness and the efficiency shown in the matter of diplomacy and defense should permanently reflect in our policy.”

He further said that said by keeping a watchful eye on the maritime boundaries as well as the frontier areas, the administration and the people should, with mutual cooperation, root out all forms of antisocial activities and the forces behind it.

Bhagwat said that the surgical strike boosted India’s image on global platform and sent out strong message to the terror outfits and their supporters.

The RSS chief specifically said that the Jammu & Kashmir government should play role of an active supporter of the central government in this direction. Huge amount is spent for development of J&K, yet why the people of the state get a feeling of recieving nothing from the government, he questioned.

Bhagwat said that during last two years, the Modi government has been able to do away with the depressive atmosphere in country and instilled confidence among people.

The RSS chief’s annual address touched upon many contagious issues like the Gau Rakshak controversy, increasing caste conflict and current education system apart from the issue of J&K and cross border conflict.

Retired Indian Revenue Services officer and social worker Satyaprakash Rai was the chief guest at the Vijayadashami function.

Supporting the ‘genuine Gau Rakshaks’, Bhagwat said that putting them in same league with elements who indulge in anti-social activities in name of cow protection is not correct. He said that there were laws against animal cruelty in various states and the genuine Gau Rakshaks were working within this legal framework.

Caste bias in 40% temples of MP

The RSS chief quoted an internal survey to say that even now caste discrimination is rampant in temples of 40% villages, community wells of 30% villages and 35% crematoriums in Madhya Pradesh, which is very worrying situation.

He said that the RSS has started working for social integration and similar surveys are also being carried out in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka to assess the situation there.

Terming the recent caste-based violence as deplorable, he said that the society should be wary of elements trying to create social divide.

Sending a note of caution to opposition parties, Bhagwat said opposition just for the sake of opposition is not a good idea as divisive forces take benefit of such situation. Even the media should keep this in mind, the RSS chief cautioned.

Bhagwat also called for result-oriented action towards ensuring cheap and value-based education that is accessible and affordable for all and creates and well-read society.
