BHOPA:L: Taking a dig at the BJP government for poor roads in Bhopal, a Congress leader has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pass by Old Bhopal too.

Mohammad Sagheer has appealed to the Prime Minister that he should pass by the roads in Old Bhopal, where the condition of roads is bad and repair is seldom undertaken.

"Modi ji aap jahaan se guzar jaate hain, bas wahin ke road ban jaate hain" [The route you are supposed to take, gets repaired].

Sagheer, who is leader of opposition in the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken the opportunity--PM's visit to Bhopal--to target the BJP government that also heads the municipal corporation in the State capital.

"The Jinsi Road and Pul Bogda route, both fall on National Highways viz. NH 12 and NH 86. Please take these routes during your visit. People would be indebted and so will I", he mentioned.

Sagheer says that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi passes through the areas (Sagheer represents the ward in walled city), the roads here also might have been repaired.

Today, PM Modi is on a visit to Bhopal. The roads he is likely to pass through, have been repaired, however, the condition of other roads remains pathetic. Especially, the condition is bad in old part of Bhopal.

BJP is in power in the State since 2003. Mayor Alok Sharma, who is a senior BJP leader, had promised better roads when he fought the election, however, the situation, remained the same. Incidentally, Sharma also contested polls from Old Bhopal.
