BHOPAL: Congress leader Arif Masood has shot a letter to Inspector General of Police, asking him to take stern action against policemen who committed atrocities on a family in Sehore.

The family members were forced to drink each other's urine and perform sexual acts in police custody.

Masood has written to IGP, asking him to immediately take action against guilty policemen who tortured the family. The victims had earlier approached officials but no action was taken. They gave an affidavit recently about the horrific nature of atrocities.

NewsBits.in was the first website that carried the story. Most local newspapers, media organisations and TV channels ignored the story. The incident has shocked residents and government has ordered probes into it.

"The police station in-charge Rakesh Sharma has been accused of stripping family members, hitting them and forcing them to commit obscene acts. This has angered people", said Masood, a former MP Congress spokesperson.

The Congress leader has also written to the Superintendent of Police (SP) in this regard. He said that in case action was not taken, there would be a major agitation after Durgotsava and Muharram.
