BHOPAL: 'Prostitutes are mothers and sisters too. I will wash their feet too', said chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday.

Chouhan was responding to charges levelled at him, especially, after a Congress leader used the term 'veshya' while criticising the chief minister.

He said, "They are forced into prostitution against their will, they are women and are mothers & sisters too". "Mocking at someone who is trapped in it due to their circumstances is inhuman".

Chouhan said this while addressing a public meeting in Nalkheda in Sagar. "I respect all women. I will wash the feet of prostitutes too", he further said. "Congress leaders keep targeting him, they also abuse me. It is their language that shows their culture".

After Chouhan's recent announcements, particularly, the power bill waiver for poor, Congress leaders had criticised him. MP Congress leader Bhupendra Gupta had used the term 'veshya' while targeting Chouhan for his announcements just before the elections.
