BHOPAL: Last Sunday of April turned out to be quite fatal for commuters in Madhya Pradesh as at least 21 persons died in four separate road accidents across the state.

Many were injured in these accidents involving big vehicles. In another incident in Neemuch, three including a police jawan were grievously injured when they got hit by a truck suspected to be ferrying illegal sand.

Two of the major accidents occurred in Mandsaur and Jabalpur districts killing eight each and injuring about 30 in all.

In Jabalpur, a truck laden with cement bags overturned in Mankedi in Shahpura, about 50 km from district headquarters, killing eight.

The fatalities included three women and two children who were part of a family that took a lift on the truck to travel to Jabalpur.

In Mandsaur, a passenger bus overturned at Dhamania Diwan of Shamgarh killing another eight and injuring 24.

In Satna, three bike borne persons were killed on Katni-Maihar Road after a truck hit them. The fourth rider on the bike was injured. In another incident in Ashoknagar, two persons were killed and four injured when a car was hit by a trailor.
