Activists condemn arson, attack on Church in Tamil Nadu's Trichy, demand action

A church was allegedly attacked in Tamil Nadu on Friday morning.
The unidentified assailants set afire the church, and later escaped.
This incident occurred at Musiri AG Church, which is located oppose the Musiri new bus stand in Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu.
It is just another in the series of several incidents of attacks on Churches and violence against Christian community in South India, particularly, Tamil Nadu.
Acitivsts have condemned the incident and have urged the administration and top police officials to take action against those involved in arson and attack on Churches.
Human rights activist Pastor Nehemiah Christie has condemned the incident and demanded fair investigation, citing how the pastor and his wife had received threats from right-wing groups recently.
He said that earlier also there wsa an incident in Kanyakumari but police failed to name the accused in the FIR. "Unless the police and administration esnure taht minorities' rights are guaranteed, their complaints are taken seriously, the safety of minorities seems a far-fetched idea".
