Bhopal: UPSC aspirant gang raped, police station turned away the victim

BHOPAL: A girl who is preparing for civil services, was gang-raped in the city.

The victim, a 21-year-old, who was returning from coaching institute, was forcibly taken away to a desolate spot near an overpass.

There were four persons who raped her and later left her brutalized.

After the incident, the girl had somehow informed the kin and reached her house. This incident occurred a few days ago. Initially, the police station had turned the complainant away, citing the fact that the area didn't fall under the police station's jurisdiction.

Now the Railway police have registered a case in this regard. Surprisingly, the girl's father is a policeman himselt but the complaint was not registered though there are strict directions about registering FIR in such cases.

On the basis of the girl's statement, some of the suspects have been rounded up, said police sources. The police are investigating the case.
