BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader Raghnunandan Sharma shocked the party leadership with his statement on farmers killed in Mandsaur firing.

Sharma said that announcement of the compensation of Rs 1 crore was not correct.

He said that such money is not even given to armymen who die at the border.

Sharma, a former member of parliament, who has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is among senior party leaders in Madhya Pradesh.

He said that it was not the right decision. "Those who induldged in violence during agitation were anti-social elements. This is what the ministers have already said", opined Sharma.

The statement came as a jolt to the party, as it directly questions the decision of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Apart from those who were killed in firing in Mandsaur, compensation of Rs 1 cr was also announced for a person who allegedly died in custody of police.
