Bhopal: Followers of Acharya Rajneesh aka Osho gathered in a small village Kuchwada in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday to celebrate 85th birth anniversary of the spiritual guru.

Kuchwada, though a small village, has gained international repute for being the birthplace of Acharya Rajneesh, who was born as Chandra Mohan Jain on December 11, 1931 at his maternal grandparents’ place.

To mark the occasion, an ‘Anand Utsav’ (happiness fest) was organized at the grand Osho Teerth Ashram in the village. The grand ashram was set up by Swami Satya Teerth Bharti of Japan.

About 200 followers from Japan, China, USA, Australia, Canada, Burma and Sri Lanka and different parts of India danced, sang and overall enjoyed on the night intervening Saturday and Sunday. They also carried candles and paid obeisance at the ancient house where Osho was born.

A yoga camp is being held at the Ashram from December 8 under guidance of Swami Chaitanya Kirti of Osho Dham, Delhi.

Swami Chaitanya said that Osho is a consciousness and the message of love, happiness and peace propagated by him (Osho) was more relevant in the present circumstances.

He also said that in the present stress-filled lifestyle the 100-odd forms of meditation taught by Osho were very useful. Swami Chaitnya also said that he was not happy with role of present day politicians and politics should be governed by guidance of spiritual personalities.
