BHOPAL: As if the murder of twins abducted from Satna was not enough, several incidents of children under attack including abduction bid of four schoolgirls came to light on Monday in different districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, a three-year-old girl was raped in Satna district. The accused, said to be 14-year-old, has been arrested.

In a sensational incident, four minor girls in Seoni town were abducted by four youths in broad daylight while they were on their way to school. The girls were reportedly pulled into a vehicle on knifepoint and were also administered some drug that made them fuzzy.

The girls however managed to escape somehow, sources said and are now undergoing treatment at local hospital. Police have managed to arrest two of the four youths, who reportedly are residents of the same locality as the girls. The girls know the accused, police said. Hunt for two others is on.

Girl attacked with knife in Chhatarpur outside school

In another incident, a girl student of class 7 was attacked with knife on her neck repeatedly just outside her government school in Patna village of Lavkushnagar in Chhatarpur district. The girl is in serious condition and is undergoing treatment at government hospital. The accused Boura Agnihotri was detained by the police.

Celphos packet in water tank, 8 Chhindwara school kids fall sick

Eight students of Saraswati Shishu Mandir fell sick on Monday after drinking water in the school. Later, an unopened packet of Celphos (pesticide) was found inside the 20 litre tank in which drinking water for school is stored.

School authorities said that the water tank is cleaned daily and fresh water filled, but could not explain how the celphos packet got into it. If the packet were open, a big tragedy could have happened as the pesticide is highly poisonous, sources said.

12-year-old killed in celebratory firing in cousin’s marriage

Chirag Solanki, 12 was killed in celebratory firing during the baarat (marriage procession) of his cousin in Ratlam late on Sunday night. The gun was fired was Dinesh, another cousin of the groom Rajesh Palasia. Two others including a 14-year-old were injured in the incident.
