Madhya Pradesh: Man beaten to death, two burnt alive in violence in Satna

BHOPAL: A man was beaten to death and later two persons were burnt alive--leading to three deaths in Madhya Pradesh. 

The incident occurred at Rimari in Satna on Monday. 

The victim, Manendra, was beaten to death after a row with the family of Pappu Khan, living nearby. He was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

After his death, there was reprisal attack and the house of the suspects was set afire. Two persons--Husain and Azizuddin, died in the fire. Over a dozen persons lived in the house. It is not clear how many people sustained burn injuries in the incident.

When fire tenders were rushed to control the fire, the villagers came in way and didn't allow the fire tenders to go ahead. In view of the situation in the area, the senior police officials rushed to the spot. 

The incident occurred under the Sabhapur police station in the district. Locals say that there was a dispute between the two families for sometime. The administration was also aware of it, however, it didn't take any steps earlier.

The Satna police have registered a case and investigation is on to ascertain the circumstances that led to the violence. Policemen are deployed in the area and local officials say that the situation is now under control.
