BHOPAL: Saints are expected to shun power and clout but in Madhya Pradesh, they get the status of minister.

Two Godmen--Computer Baba and Yogendra Mahant, had threatened to expose Shivraj Singh Chouhan government over Narmada Yatra, alleging large-scale corruption in plantation of 6 crore saplings.

But, before the proposed Narmada Ghotala Rath Yatra could begin, Shivraj Chouhan government bestowed the status of minister to give Godmen including Computer Baba and Yogendra Mahant.

The state goverment has issued the orde to grand minister of state status to Godmen--Narmadanandji, Hariharananadji, Computer Baba, Bhayyu Maharaj and Yogendra Mahant. The general administration department (GAD) issued this order.

The order said that a special committee has been formed to create awareness regarding cleanliness, plantation and water conservation near Narmada, and all the five saints would be members of the panel.

After the minister of status status was accorded, Computer Baba said that there was no question of talking about scam, as saints would now monitor the plantation drive near Narmada. With the status of minister of state, they are entitled to several benefits including official car, house rent allowance, monthly allowance, staff and other perks.
