SHOCKING: Bhopal jail officials brand faces of children who went to meet father on Rakhi

BHOPAL: In a shocking incident, minors who reached the jail to meet their father on Raksha Bandhan, were stamped with an entry seal on their faces.

This happened in Bhopal Central Jail on Monday. 

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, just like other festivals, family members visit the jail to meet the relatives.

These kids had gone to the jail to meet their father who is is lodged in prison. However, the jail authorities stamped their faces with the entry seal.

The probe has found jail staff guilty. One of them, Rashmi Rajput has been suspended with immediate effect. 

After the incident became public, there has been wide condemnation of the incident. Surprisingly, jail superintendent told media persons that it would not recur but said that there was no need for action.

Jail minister Kusum Mahdele has, however, said that action would be taken. The MP Human Rights Commission and the State Children's Commission have also taken cognisance of the incident.
