RAISEN: A 65-year-old woman was hacked to death in her sleep on the suspicion of witchcraft in Silwani of Raisen district late on Sunday night.

The accused, Man Singh Raikwar has been taken into custody and is being questioned.

According to police sources, Raikwar, 28, killed Ulfat Bi, wife of Saddey Khan, by hacking her with neck with an axe. The incident occurred in village Salaiya under Silwani police station.

The woman was sleeping outside her house when Man Singh attacked her. Sources said that aunt of Man Singh died about a year ago and he suspected that the death occurred due to Ulfat Bi’s black magic practices.
